Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao informed that environmental clearance for LNG Terminal at Ganagavaram Port was received from Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India.
The Chief Secretary on Saturday reviewed with the Officials of Ports, on the progress and status of the Ports in Andhra Pradesh. One major Port at Visakhapatnam and fourteen (14) non-major ports have been notified in Andhra Pradesh Coast line (974 Kms).
Ports in operation, Ports under development and upcoming Ports and Projects are discussed in the meeting. Kakinada Anchorage Port (by Govt. of AP), Kakinada Deepwater Port (M/s Kakinada Seaports Ltd), Gangavaram Port (M/s Gangavaram Port Limited), Krishnapatnam Port (M/s Krishnapatnam Port Com. Ltd), Rawa Port (Captive) (M/s Cairn Energy (I) Ltd.) are in operation. Machilipatnam Port (M/s Machilipatnam Port Ltd) is under development. Bhavanapadu Port, Narsapuram Port, Ramayapatnam Port are upcoming Ports.
Land acquisition for Machilipatnam Port survey was completed by the Krishna District Collector and the development of the port is already taken up and will be operational by 2017. Expression of Interest proposals are received for Bhavanapadu Port in Srikakulam District. A meeting was conducted on 23.04.2015 with qualified bidders to finalize draft document and the bidders were requested to furnish their views by 27.04.2015. Developer will be finalized by September, 2015. Request for Proposals for procurement of technical consultant to prepare Techno-Economic Feasibility Reports (TEFR) has been received on 04.04.2015 and the proposals are under scrutiny for Narasapuram Port, West Godavari District.
The consultant will be finalized in the 1st week of May 2015. Request for Proposals for procurement of technical consultant to prepare TEFR has been received and the proposals are under scrutiny for Ramayapatnam Port (Prakasam). The consultant will be finalized by 1st week of May 2015.
Secretary Infrastructure and Investments Ajai Jain and other Officials from Ports are attended the meeting.
