‘Ramayapatnam will be a State port’

Ongole: The government will construct the port at Ramayapatnam as a state owned port and develop it as a major hub of logistics in the country, announced MLCs Magunta  Srinivasulu Reddy and Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu.

The MLCs touring Prakasam district as part of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Committee on the assurances of government to Prakasam district and spoke to The Hans India at Kothapatnam beach. Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy said, “The government is keen to keep each and every promise made to the public. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is in favour of the Ramayapatnam port in the district. He may announce it as a state port soon.”

Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu said, “The Singapore permits its port to store the goods and allow the companies to ship and transport them at their convenience. They are earning more money by being just providing the facility. With a vast coastal line of around 1000 kilometres, our State can do more. The Chief Minister wants to develop the Ramayapatnam port as a logistics hub connecting the coastal corridor for easy transport of goods.”
